As you probably know I recently returned from a trip to St Lucia in the Caribbean. It was my first visit to the island, and so I stayed up in the north at a beautiful Boutique hotel called Cap Maison.

This takes me to the title of this blog post- The North or the South? St Lucia, if you're not familiar with the island is almost pear shaped but the way the island's attractions are spread out it almost splits itself in too. A local lady by the name of Maggie, who served us a few times when we dined at The Cliff explained to us how she viewed the island with the resorts, beaches and party scene up in the North and the cultural and historical attractions and events in the South. Sadly I only had time to experience the north of the island during my trip but if I went back I would definitely explore the south more!
St Lucia was the first new country I've travelled to since my trip to Venice, Italy in 2016 so it was quite nice to get a new stamp in my passport when we stepped of the plane! Being a first time visitor to the country I did stick to the more "touristy" activities available. (Ziplining and a boat trip to name a few) However, I did explore the more local side of the island with a trip down to Castries.
Accommodation
Cap Maison is family run, small and beautiful. We had a
large spacious villa with a private pool (which was definitely worth the cost!) The hotel did have two pools, they were quite small however, so having the private one was really nice.
Food
The hotel housed two restaurants. The Cliff, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and The Naked Fisherman which serves lunch and dinner. I ate lunch and breakfast at the hotel every day we were there. While we did contemplate going out for food it was decided that if the hotel's food was delicious and possibly the best on the island what was the point of going out to try mediocre food? Isn't the point of trying different restaurants to find the best food? Well we found it at Cap Maison! We ate out one night at Jacques Waterfront Dining but were very disappointed. The location was lovely but the food was bland and full of weird textures!
Activities
St Lucia has hundreds of fantastic activities and adventures in store for you when you arrive. We zip-lined in Babonneau, snorkelled at Pigeon Island, sailed along the West coast and drove through the crowds of Castries. So as you can see St Lucia is overflowing with adventure!

Okay that is it for this post. I will be doing specialized posts on different aspects of St Lucia so if you have any requests please don't hesitate to contact me. Bye for now!
