St Lucia's National Rainforest covers 76,890,272 square metres of the island and is home to a large variety of different animal and plant species. I visited the rainforest with Rainforest Adventures St Lucia doing the Ultimate Three Rainforest Zipline, Hike and Aerial Tram. Sadly I don't have any pictures of the actual zipline (its difficult to carry a camera while whizzing through the trees 60ft off the ground!) but I do have a few photos of the Rainforest and the view from the aerial tram.

The day started with a bumpy coach trip from Cap Maison to the site in Baboneau. Everyone was put in groups (I was with two friends, a Canadian family and an American father and son) They were a really nice group of people to adventure through the rainforest with! We got kitted out in all the safety equipment and then did a test zip. After successfully completing that we headed up through the rainforest on the aerial tram. There were a few different types of wildlife, but not much which was a bit of a shame so if your looking into just riding the aerial tram, be warned that you might not see that much wildlife.

After arriving at the top platform we hiked down through the rainforest to the first ziplining platform. It wasn't a difficult hike but you definitely needed a more robust type of footwear than flipflops! In total there were 8 zips of varying heights and lengths. The best one however was the last one which was also the longest.

The overall experience was really good but very costly and as something you can do all of South America and the Caribbean the ziplines (apart from the last one) didn't stand out. If your looking for an adventurous adrenaline rush I would advise you do the Adrena-Line Canopy Tour because from what I could see it looked a whole lot more challenging and exciting!
